Face Monotypes

In 2022, I received an invitation from the brilliant Sébastien Esteban Desplat (publisher, lithographer, artist) to do a printmaking residency at La Métairie Bruyère in Burgundy. The work I created was to be included in an exhibition with nine other artists.

When I was studying in Brussels in my twenties, I did five years of evening courses in etching with an amazing teacher called Anne Kellens at the Académie Ixelles. I told Sébastien about this and about my love of colours, and he suggested that I make some really big monotypes.

I had a beautiful studio with a very big press, all the colours I needed, and access to so many different papers (paradise!). In five days I made twenty monotypes, each of them unique examples.

This is an extension of my FaceWall project.

Large: 120cm x 100cm. Medium: 107cm x 76cm. Small: 70cm X 60cm. Please contact me if you’re interested in buying a monotype.
