Joke van Leeuwen collected fifty beautiful poems for children by Dutch-language poets who made their debut after 1945. Each poem is accompanied by a drawing by a different illustrator.

All but two of the drawings were made especially for this book. This anthology thus offers a beautiful sample of Dutch poetry for children and modern illustration art in the Netherlands and Flanders.
