FIGURES FUTUR 92: JEUNES ILLUSTRATEURS POUR DEMAIN
Future Figures 92: Young Illustrators for Tomorrow
Salon du livre de jeunesse, France, 1992
An international illustration competition, this prize was awarded on the occasion of the Children's Book Fair in Seine Saint-Denis. It was intended to be a creative space where young illustrators could, without constraint but around imposed literary texts, attempt a personal and original exploration of their universe, daring to be singular in the expression of their imagination to induce new relationships between image and text.
“I have a special affection for this book. It was my very first prize, while I was still in my studies. Prizes and residencies have been a huge help for my career. On the jury, I was very happy to have Serge Bloch, Mireille Vautier and Roberto Innocenti.”—Kitty Crowther
